Christmas Holiday work 2012

1.  Essay on climate change mitigation that we have planned in class together…….”Mitigation is the only way to manage climate change”. Discuss (15 marks)

Coastal homework set 13/12/12

Essay 1.  Explain how coastal flooding presents environmental, social and economic risks for the UK (10 marks)

 This will be the mark scheme:

level mark descriptor
1 1-4 Describes some risks of flooding.  Lacks structure and very limited use of   geographical terminology.  Limited or   no reference to examples.  Considerable   errors in language
2 5-7 Some risks identified, with some   explanation. Some structure.  Likely to   be unbalanced.  There are some written   language errors
3 8-10 A clear, exemplified explanation of how   coastal flooding presents risks.  Well   structured and balanced response which uses examples effectively.  Written language errors are rare.

You must refer to the 1953 Tidal Surge and tidal surges in general, the Thames flood barrier and the Thames gateway!
